The Mission of Much Is Expected, Inc. is to support the physical, educational, and emotional needs of school children throughout Madison County, Alabama.
We believe that we all are expected to make a difference in this world, and that we are called to care for the most vulnerable members of our community – the children. We strive to fill the gaps in meeting the needs of children’s physical, educational, and emotional needs.
Susan Moon is a lifelong children’s advocate. She has served as a PTA President, science teacher, and building/district level administrator with Huntsville City Schools (HCS). During that time, she originated numerous programs for the district including Project Lead the Way, Cyber Security, and the EMT program. In her role as Career Academy Director, Susan developed and implemented STEM programs that led to HCS teams earning top spots in state, national, and international competitions. Susan was recognized as Alabama PTA Teacher of the Year in 2012 for her work as the Director of the Applied Math and Science Center at Grissom High School. In 2011 Susan and her family incorporated the nonprofit Much Is Expected, Inc.
Goals of the organization include supporting high quality STEM programs that assist students in connecting their talents, interests, and educational pathways with high demand careers, providing resources to meet the physical needs of the children of our community, and supporting opportunities for children to explore and grow their faith.
